Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - In North Rhine-Westphalia there is still no clarity as to how things will continue with the parental contributions for the daycare center in view of ongoing corona-related restrictions.
"A further exemption has not been decided at the moment," said the NRW Family Ministry at the request of the German Press Agency in Düsseldorf.
"The state government is holding talks with parents, unions, municipalities and sponsors about how care in daycare centers and day care will continue to be organized from February 15th."
All financing issues would also be clarified.
The Association of Towns and Municipalities has already clearly spoken out in favor of state assumption of costs.
"For us it is clear: As long as the state calls for the children to be looked after at home and bears half the costs, the municipalities will also waive daycare fees," said state association president Roland Schäfer on Tuesday of the dpa.

“Parents rightly want to know how the municipalities are doing with daycare fees in February.
Many parents are at their limit due to the double burden of home office and childcare. "
The Association of Towns and Municipalities is assuming "that the country will show solidarity in February and shoulder the burdens together with the families and communities as before".
For January, the state and municipalities had taken over the parental contributions for kindergartens, day parents and care offers of the open all-day school (OGS).
Last summer, half of the fees had already been waived for two months due to the corona.
The SPD opposition demands that the country suspend the fees for the entire duration of the pandemic.
