Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament will meet for a special session on February 11, the day after the next federal-state talks on the corona crisis.

The government factions of the CDU and FDP submitted the application.

The state government announced on Tuesday that the plenary had been informed about prospects after the federal-state deliberations.

The parliamentary session-free period originally planned for Carnival had previously been canceled.

The Prime Minister of the federal states and Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) want to discuss how to proceed in the corona pandemic on February 10th.

The focus of the switching conference will be the question of whether the lockdown that has been in force since December 16 with many closed shops and schools as well as daycare centers in emergency operation will be extended beyond February 14.

In addition, a “national vaccination plan” should be in place by the time of the meeting in order to achieve more predictability and reliability in vaccine deliveries.
