Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The alternative start date for training courses in Baden-Württemberg, which was initiated by the state government, has hardly been asked for due to the corona.
After a dwindling number of apprenticeships in autumn, companies should be given the unscheduled opportunity to start training young people with a delay on February 1st - for this purpose, special training classes should even be set up in vocational schools.
But only a few companies followed this offer, announced the Ministry of Labor and Economics on Monday in Stuttgart on request.
Politicians had initiated the second regular training start date in November in the hope that the effects of the pandemic would no longer have such a strong impact on the training market, for example in the catering or retail sector.
Instead, the situation worsened again for many companies due to the ongoing lockdown, and some were not even allowed to open since the beginning of November or even had to close again.
The tightened lockdown ensures that the framework conditions for training young people in many industries remain difficult, which explains a "relatively small number of interested companies", it said.
The Ministry did not provide any information on the number of training contracts that were concluded as part of the pilot project.

Training courses usually start in September.
In the weeks and months that follow, many young people keep moving up, but their training time is usually shortened by the months that were missed.
This should explicitly
not be the case
in the model experiment
