According to information from France Inter, a police commissioner and a deputy prosecutor were checked while he was having lunch in a restaurant open clandestinely in Carpentras, in the Vaucluse.

The information was first revealed by Gérald Darmanin himself, invited by the radio this morning.

"The French must respect the curfew, and everyone has a duty to set an example," said the Minister of the Interior.

When I realize that officials from the Ministry of the Interior do not respect these rules, in particular by going to illegal restaurants, I say so.

This was the case, from what I understand, this weekend, of a police commissioner in the south of France.

If ever this is verified, I asked the director of the national police to suspend him and remove him from his command post.

"

This commissioner has been the boss of the Carpentras district since 2019, and has been controlled by his own men.

He would have confirmed having lunched with the vice-prosecutor of Carpentras, also a member of the Superior Council of the Magistrature.

The Nîmes prosecutor's office was seized of this case.
