Israeli media reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to reduce the period of his planned visit to the UAE and Bahrain on February 9.

Thus, Netanyahu will visit Abu Dhabi for a short period of 3 hours, during which only he will meet the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed.

The Israeli media added that the previously planned visit was scheduled to last 3 days, and would include meetings in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Manama.

On Sunday, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted a senior government official (it did not name him) that "Netanyahu decided to shorten his planned visit to the Gulf, from 3 days to 3 hours only."

Close to Netanyahu told the Israeli media that the reason for the shortening of the visit was the closure imposed due to the spread of the Corona pandemic.

Knowing that Netanyahu's visit was postponed twice after the signing of the normalization agreements between Israel and both the UAE and Bahrain, due to the closure as well, according to what was published by the Prime Minister's Office at the time.

If this visit takes place, it will be the first public and official visit of an Israeli prime minister to the Emirates.

There was no official statement from the Israeli government regarding the date or duration of the visit.

And at the end of January, the American news site Axios reported that the UAE had complained to Netanyahu's office after the chief Israeli epidemiologist, Sharon Elroy Price, said that the Corona virus infection had spread from Dubai to Israel, and Netanyahu's advisers apologized for these statements.

The website said in a report that Price criticized the Israeli government in a hypothetical meeting with hospital directors in Israel, and said that "the number of Israelis who died within two weeks of peace with Dubai exceeds the number of those who died in the 70 years of wars" Israel fought with the Palestinians and the Arabs. .
