Deggendorf (dpa) - A 28-year-old man has been on trial since Monday for killing his partner in Deggendorf, Lower Bavaria.

The public prosecutor's office accuses him of murder.

According to the indictment, the Afghan is said to have stabbed the 20-year-old in August 2020 in a supermarket parking lot in Plattling because she wanted to part with him.

The man worked in a takeaway next to the supermarket.

The friend looked him up there and there was an argument.

The 28-year-old attacked the woman with a knife.

The eight-month-old daughter was meanwhile in the woman's car.

This could drag herself injured into the car, where the man continued to stab her, according to the indictment.

The 20-year-old died on the scene.

According to a court spokesman, the process should also check whether the guilt is particularly serious.

This could - should the man be sentenced to life imprisonment for murder - prevent him from being suspended after 15 years.
