Halle (AP) - Third division soccer team Hallescher FC remains unbeaten in the fourth game in a row.

After an increase in performance in the second half, the protégés of coach Florian Schnorrenberg won a 1: 1 (0: 1) against 1. FC Saarbrücken in a duel between the table neighbors on Monday evening and now, like the Saarlanders, have ten points ahead of the relegation zone.

Julian Günther-Schmidt (44th minute) shot the newly promoted 1-0 lead.

Captain Jonas Nietfeld (73rd) managed the deserved equalization for the Saale townspeople.

The guests forced the home side to make mistakes from kick-off with their high pressing and worked out clear chances in a row.

Günther-Schmidt (4th), Nicklas Shipnoski (7th) and Sebastian Jacob (25th) missed the Halle housing from promising positions.

The hosts' first sign of life did not come until the 26th minute, but Saarbrücken's goalkeeper Daniel Batz parried Terrence Boyd's header, who reacted brilliantly to Jonas Nietfeld's shot in stoppage time in the first half.

Shortly before, the newcomer had taken the lead.

Sören Reddemann lost the ball in his own penalty area against Shipnoski, whose cross pushed Günther-Schmidt over the line from three meters.

In the second half, the HFC set the scene and pushed for an equalizer.

Boyd and Nietfeld (67th) did not get the ball in the case.

Braydon Manu missed a minute with a head from two meters.

Nietfeld crowned the hosts' offensive efforts with a well-deserved equalization with a placed long-range shot.

Niklas Landgraf and Michael Eberwein (89th) even had the opening goal for Halle on their feet, but narrowly failed.
