The first focus of Corona in China

Global health experts visit Wuhan seafood market

A team of WHO experts investigating the sources of the "Covid-19" epidemic visited a market in Wuhan, China, on Sunday, where the first focus of the Corona virus was recorded in China, according to reporters at Agence France-Presse who were on the scene.

Since January 2020, the Huanan Seafood Market, where live wild animals were being sold, has been closed, and guards have allowed entry only to the cars of the WHO investigators team.

The experts did not respond to any questions upon their arrival at the sprawling market, and one of them raised the windows of his car when a reporter asked him what was expected from the visit.

The security forces asked the journalists in the vicinity of the market to leave, and one of them rocked a long ladder on which a photographer was sitting to take better photos.

A short time later, one of the experts responded to journalists who were asking loudly from afar whether the team was satisfied with the visit, by raising his thumb in a sign indicating "yes".

One expert, Peter Dazak, wrote in a tweet that the WHO team had "visited very important sites, a wholesale market and now the Huanan seafood market."

Peter Dazak added that the team "met important people in the two markets and raised questions to help better understand the factors that led to the emergence of Covid."

The head of the US-based "EcoHealth Alliance", which specializes in preventing diseases, said in another tweet that these visits are "essential to allow our joint teams to understand the epidemic spread of Covid, how it began to spread at the end of 2019."
