Flood risks: Corrèze placed in red vigilance

The weather on Tuesday will be dominated by a new rainy disturbance with the maintenance of orange vigilance for floods in 19 departments in the north and southwest, while the Corrèze is placed in red vigilance, according to Météo-France forecasts.

Major floods over a large south-western quarter of the country as well as in the far north.

Note: the department of Corrèze is now on high red alert.

This very marked disturbance over the northern three quarters of the country will bring continuous rains from the Gironde and Poitou-Charentes to the Massif-Central, north of Rhône-Alpes, to the north-east of the country.

19 departments in orange vigilance

On Tuesday, 19 departments will be on orange vigilance for floods in a large southwestern quarter of the country as well as the far north, while Corrèze is placed on red vigilance, Météo France specifies in a vigilance bulletin published on Monday evening.

It will snow in the northern Alps at around 1,500 meters in the morning and then above 2,000 meters during the day.

Over the northwest as well as from the north to the center, after the morning rains, the weather will remain very cloudy with more scattered showers during the day.

A moderate southwesterly wind will blow over the northern and northwestern shores.

Thinning in the southernmost regions

In the southernmost regions, the trend will be improving with clouds that will let beautiful clearings break through in the afternoon.

Around the Mediterranean, the Mistral and Tramontane will be less marked.

In the morning, temperatures will range from 3 to 8 degrees in the north and east of the country, from 6 to 11 degrees elsewhere, up to 12 degrees in Roussillon.

In the afternoon, it will be 11 to 15 degrees in the northern three quarters of the country and 15 to 20 degrees in the south.
