Akitakata City, Hiroshima Prefecture, announced that the number of applicants for the deputy mayor's open call for participants has increased significantly to 4,115.

It is extremely rare for this number of people to apply for open recruitment of local government executives.

Akitakata City has a capacity of two deputy mayors, but one of them has not been decided for a long time, so the city has an annual income of about 1200 for about one month last month and a term of four years through the company that operates the recruitment site. We presented 10,000 yen and solicited from all over the country.

As a result, Akitakata City announced that the number of applicants has increased to 4,115, which is four times the expected number, with applications from all over the country as well as from overseas.

In the future, Mayor Ishimaru and others will conduct interviews to proceed with the selection process, and after finally deciding on a prospective candidate, propose a personnel case to the regular city council scheduled to be held later this month, and take office in April. I am aiming for it.

Mayor Ishimaru told NHK, "I am very grateful that many people have been interested in it. I would like to select a person who can work together to reform the city administration and develop the city."

Regarding the open recruitment of the deputy mayor, there were about 800 applicants in the open recruitment conducted by Himi City in Toyama Prefecture last year, and about 1,700 applicants in the open recruitment conducted by Shijonawate City in Osaka Prefecture four years ago. According to this, it is extremely rare for this number of people to apply for open recruitment of local government executives.
