"Model Worker" Li Weiguo:

"The Mainland has always been the first choice for Taiwanese youths to fight hard"

A group of young people crossed the shallow Taiwan Strait and came to the vast land of the mainland full of vitality.

Although they may have different experiences in studying, finding a job, or starting a business, they have a fiery seed in their hearts.

With hard work, rooting and integration, they seek dreams, pursue dreams, build dreams, and realize dreams in the mainland, singing the song of struggle and living up to their youth.

And all the encounters between them and the mainland youth are long-distance reunions.

On campus, they are classmates; in the workplace, they are colleagues; in entrepreneurship, they are peers.

With the tide of cross-strait exchanges, young people on both sides of the strait are getting closer, getting closer and closer, and getting better.

This newspaper has launched a series of reports today, "Taiwan Youth Chasing the Dream of Mainland China", in-depth interviews with Taiwanese youths active in various parts of the mainland of the motherland, sharing their personal experiences, encouraging and looking forward to more Taiwanese youths seizing opportunities, "landing" and becoming "Tide people" in the new era.

Listening to Li Weiguo, a young man from Taiwan, introduced his own experience, the reporter suddenly felt that this guy did not like stability and was not afraid of tossing.

Before coming to the mainland to develop, Li Weiguo had a very good start in Taiwan.

After graduating from graduate school, he joined a real estate company in Taipei. He was promoted quickly with his talents, and his annual salary was high, but with that came his career ceiling.

"I can expect myself to look like 5 or even 10 years from now, and I can't help but feel unwilling." In May 2016, after repeated thinking about future development, Li Weiguo finally decided to abandon his comfortable work and life in Taiwan and move to Beijing to develop .

"The mainland market is much larger than Taiwan. It is difficult to guess what will happen to you in the future. Such a life is more challenging."

In this way, Li Weiguo began to "toss" himself.

The first job he found was as a senior real estate consultant of Longfor Real Estate Beijing Branch.

"The company was not so sure when it hired me, and I was not sure what jobs I could do. I said that I would be willing to do first-line sales, and I would be grounded first, and it doesn't matter if the starting salary is low." During that period, Li Weiguo was irritable and anxious. The pressure is not small at all.

The differences in market sizes, expressions, business habits, and market atmospheres on both sides of the strait need to be adapted one by one.

Slowly, his patience and sincerity won the trust of customers, sales performance has come up, and his boss also praised him for his "dedication and reliability."

He said: "During this period of time, my most precious harvest is the real experience of the mainland, which cannot be bought with money."

In April 2017, Li Weiguo's career ushered in a turning point.

He joined Huacan Workshop, which was founded by China National Investment (Beijing) Investment Holdings Co., Ltd., and became the general manager of this business incubator.

"Many Taiwanese youths are eager for the mainland market, but they lack effective channels to connect, and there will be gaps in perception due to differences in the systems across the strait." The Huacan workshop that Li Weiguo joined is based on the promotion of the cross-strait cutting-edge design competition The achievement transformation of the "Award" was established with the strong support of the National Revolutionary Committee. The goal is to help Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao compatriots and overseas Chinese to solve the pain points of lack of money, lack of people, lack of resources in the process of entrepreneurship in the mainland.

In more than 3 years, Li Weiguo's career developed rapidly.

In 2018, the Huacan factory expanded from Beijing to Chengdu, Sichuan; in 2020, the Zhuhai space of the Huacan factory in Guangdong began to operate externally.

The three physical spaces total more than 11,000 square meters. The company also has offices in Taipei. In the future, it plans to deploy in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing and other places to serve more compatriots who are interested in developing in the mainland.

Li Weiguo has also won many honors for his struggle and contributions. In 2019, he won the "Haidian Youth May 4th Medal" in Beijing. In 2020, he became the first Taiwanese compatriot in Sichuan Province to receive the title of "Model Worker". These are all great contributions to his work. sure.

"Up to now, the Huacan Workshop has accumulated more than 700 incubators, including 62 from Taiwanese enterprises. 54 Taiwanese youths have practiced and worked in the Huacan Workshop, and received about 4,500 guests from both sides of the strait, Hong Kong and Macau." In Beijing, Chengdu, and Zhuhai Working back and forth in three cities, Li Weiguo's life is "tired and happy."

In order to facilitate work and life, Li Weiguo obtained a residence permit for Taiwan residents in Sichuan.

"This allows me to realize the freedom of online booking and ticket collection for travel, accommodation, catering, etc. It is really convenient."

Li Weiguo, who is enthusiastic about cross-strait exchanges, is also the chairman of the China Youth Economic and Trade Exchange Association. He said that there are some negative reports on the mainland in the Taiwan media, causing many people on the island to not understand the true situation of the mainland.

Especially after the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia, a series of manipulations by the DPP authorities cast a shadow over cross-strait exchanges.

However, even so, they still received consultations from some Taiwanese youth who wanted to come to the mainland to find life opportunities during this period, and their determination was not small.

"The true desire of the youths on both sides of the strait to exchange and cooperate is unstoppable. I would suggest that they first come to the mainland for field trips to fully understand the pros and cons, and will also prompt risks, and never'fudge'. If the other party is determined to come here Starting a business, we will do our best to help him land." Li Weiguo said.

"No one has an easy way to start a business." Li Weiguo said that no matter how difficult it is, the mainland is always the first choice for Taiwanese youth to work hard. It is still tempting to start a business in the mainland.

He vividly likened this to the process of "learning to swim", "Everyone will choke in the water at the beginning, but as long as you have the right method and perseverance, you can learn to swim."
