There is an acute danger to life, said the state water police in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Sunday.
Officials discovered several children playing on the ice on the frozen lakes of the Mecklenburg Lake District.
«They obviously didn't realize that the ice on all lakes is by no means sustainable.
Fortunately, there has been no accident so far, "said a spokesman according to the message.
The average ice thickness on all bodies of water is currently less than three centimeters.
The water police in Waren therefore appealed primarily to parents to educate their children well on this matter.
