Last year, online retail sales in national poverty-stricken counties exceeded 300 billion yuan

  Beijing, January 30 (Reporter Luo Shanshan) The reporter recently learned: The Ministry of Commerce commissioned a third-party big data statistics to show that in 2020, the total online retail sales of 832 national-level poverty-stricken counties nationwide was 301.45 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.0%.

Among them, the national-level poverty-stricken counties achieved online retail sales of 94.57 billion yuan in the fourth quarter, a year-on-year increase of 30.4%.

Physical online retail sales were 176.97 billion yuan, an increase of 48.0% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 16.6 percentage points higher than in 2019; the service online retail sales were 124.48 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1% year-on-year.

  Physical e-commerce plays a leading role.

In 2020, physical online retail sales accounted for 58.7% of the total online retail sales of national poverty-stricken counties, an increase of 8.7 percentage points from 2019; online retail sales of pharmaceuticals, equipment, books, audio and video grew rapidly, increasing by 192.5% and 110.6% year-on-year respectively.

In the fourth quarter, the growth of service e-commerce turned from negative to positive for the first time in the year.

In 2020, online catering online retail sales will be 50.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.5%.

  E-commerce of agricultural products continued to grow rapidly.

In 2020, the online retail sales of agricultural products in national poverty-stricken counties will be 40.66 billion yuan, an increase of 43.5% year-on-year, and the growth rate has increased by 14.6% over 2019. More farmers will switch offline agricultural products to online sales.

  Facing the impact of the epidemic, rural e-commerce has become a good helper for farmers to sell agricultural and sideline products and purchase daily necessities. Many migrant workers and college students who cannot return to work and school in time use e-commerce to realize local entrepreneurship and employment.

As of the end of 2020, the total number of online merchants in national poverty-stricken counties reached 3.065 million, an increase of 366,000 or 13.7% from 2019.
