The friends had alerted the rescue.

An avalanche dog found the youngster two hours later under half a meter of snow, but he was already dead.

The Austrian ski tourer was buried by a slab avalanche while climbing towards the 2327 meter high Widdersberg.

Two winter sports enthusiasts who were nearby were able to locate the man with avalanche search devices at a depth of two meters, but rescue workers could no longer resuscitate the man.
