The EU on Sunday confirmed its goal of vaccinating 70% of adults by "the end of summer", after news of a 30% increase in the first quarter of vaccine deliveries by AstraZeneca, which had previously reported significant delays.
"We want 70% of adults in the EU to be vaccinated by the end of the summer," European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told German television station ZDF, reaffirming this target announced on January 19, jeopardized by delays previously announced by AstraZeneca.
