Every day, eleven women are murdered in Mexico.

Seven out of ten have been subjected to some form of violence.

In the vast majority of cases, the perpetrator comes from his own family.

Very few crimes lead to punishment.

- This doll represents my daughter, says Elizbeth Martinez, and tries to swallow the tears.

- My daughter was sexually abused by a 43-year-old man.

The doll in school uniform is one of over 300 imaginary victims of violence that she has sewn so far, from the human rights office where she now lives with her daughters.

There they receive women who have been forced to leave their homes as a result of violence.

"The dolls all have a story"

Elizbeth's dolls have received a great deal of attention and have become a symbol of women's vulnerability, and violence against women, which during the corona pandemic has increased from already high levels.

She is now actively participating in a part of the Mexican women's movement, which has become increasingly radical.

- These dolls all have a story.

All have been subjected to sexual violence and rape.
