Since 1 February 2018, it is forbidden for drivers to use mobile phones or other communication equipment if you hold it in your hand while driving.

Despite this, 14,843 people in the country were fined for having surfed in 2020, of which 223 in Värmland.

The problem of professional drivers looking at their mobile phones while driving has been noticed several times on SVT and the situation is serious, says Henrik Gillisson, CEO of LBC Logistics in eastern Värmland, who has chosen to take a stand for the campaign "Hands on the Wheel".

- I think the campaign is very important to once again inform that it is actually the law that you are not allowed to surf mobile while driving, says Henrik Gillisson.

"The consequences become very serious in an accident with heavy vehicles"

He does not believe that professional drivers surf the steering wheel more than other drivers, but believes that it is even more serious when those who drive heavy vehicles are careless with attention.

- It is their job and they have a great responsibility.

The consequences become very serious in the event of an accident with a heavy vehicle.

What do you hope the campaign will bring?

- We hope that it will lead to fewer accidents.

"They watch movies, surf and take pictures of themselves"

In the clip, you hear what Henrik Gillisson wants to see for action and the driver Patrik Andersson Reimer tells how it can happen on the roads.
