Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - In the fourth online vote, the AfD has chosen state parliamentary group leader Bernd Gögel as its top candidate for the state election.

The 66-year-old received 55 percent of the vote, as a party spokesman announced on Sunday evening.

His deputy in the parliamentary group, Emil Sänze, came to 37.8 percent.

With “no”, six percent of the members rejected both candidates.

The remaining votes were abstentions.

According to party information, 1304 of 4500 members of the regional association took part in the election.

The state election is on March 14th.
