A suspect in the use of violence against a riot policeman was detained in St. Petersburg

This is reported by the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in St. Petersburg.

According to the Investigative Committee, the suspect on the afternoon of January 31 at Pionerskaya Square during a rally at least twice hit the head of a riot policeman who was providing law and order, causing him physical pain and bodily harm.

The suspect was detained as a result of investigative actions.

“The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in St. Petersburg have opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art.

318 of the Criminal Code of Russia (the use of violence against a government official), ”the UK said. 

The question of arresting the suspect and bringing charges against him is being resolved.

Earlier in Moscow, a man with a knife tried to wound an employee of the Russian Guard.
