Berlin (dpa) - Tennis professional Alexander Zverev can imagine Boris Becker being involved in his coaching team in the future.

"I will not rule that out at all," said the 23-year-old from Hamburg in an RTL / ntv interview.

"The work we did together, at the Davis Cup, the ATP Cup, I always liked," said the seventh world ranking a good week before the start of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

At the moment, however, there are other problems on both sides that need to be addressed as a matter of priority before working together.

That is why the three-time Wimbledon winner, who has also worked with world number one Novak Djokovic from Serbia in the past, would be "currently no question, but of course I won't rule that out in the future," said Zverev.

Zverev and the Spaniard David Ferrer had recently ended their successful collaboration because Ferrer wanted to be more with his family during the corona pandemic.

Becker had withdrawn from his position as German men's tennis boss at the end of last year and continues to work as a TV expert.

Zverev is now being trained again by his father, his older brother Mischa also takes care of management matters.
