Los Angeles (dpa) - Because of Corona, the legendary Coachella Festival in California is canceled again.

The responsible health department in Riverside County said that the festival planned for April could not be held.

A possible new date was not mentioned.

At the beginning of the pandemic - in April 2020 - there was a corona-related delay.

The organizers initially pushed the event to October, but this date also fell through.

More than 125,000 concert-goers were expected on the festival site in Indio in 2020.

The main acts for six days were groups and artists such as Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, Big Sean and Calvin Harris.

In the wake of the corona pandemic, numerous major events in the USA have been canceled or postponed since March 2020, including the Burning Man desert festival last September.
