Stuttgart (AP) - Bundesliga soccer club VfB Stuttgart has to do without its captain Gonzalo Castro for the time being.

He could be "three to four weeks out, maybe only two, maybe longer," said sports director Sven Mislintat on Saturday.

Midfielder Castro suffered a torn muscle fiber in his thigh in the 2-0 (0-0) win against FSV Mainz 05 on Friday evening.

Castro had played his 400th Bundesliga game against Rheinhessen, but was replaced in the 26th minute due to his injury.

Defenders Borna Sosa and Konstantinos Mavropanos also had to leave the field prematurely due to minor injuries.

Mislintat assumes, however, that they will be able to play in the DFB Cup round of 16 against Borussia Mönchengladbach next Wednesday (8.30 p.m.).
