Hamburg (AP) - Hamburger SV has reinforced its top position in the 2nd Bundesliga.

In the home game against SC Paderborn on Saturday, the Hanseatic League deservedly won 3: 1 (2: 1) and now lead the table with 40 points.

Moritz Heyer (8th minute) and Sonny Kittel (22nd / 53rd) scored the goals in the Volksparkstadion for HSV, which remained unbeaten for the ninth time in a row.

Sven Michel (41st) scored for the guests from East Westphalia, who had to admit defeat after four previous games without defeat and thus remain stuck in the middle of the table.

As in the 4: 3 spectacle for HSV in the first leg, both teams were fully on the offensive right from the start.

HSV consistently used two standards for an early 2-0 lead.

However, the SCP continued to oppose it and did not hit the connection undeservedly.

After the break, HSV pushed for the preliminary decision that the strong smock brought about with his second goal.

There were chances for more goals on both sides, but in the end the home side won and came one step closer to promotion.
