Zwickau (AP) - Midfielder Felix Drinkuth from third division soccer club FSV Zwickau has reported some severe complaints after his Covid 19 illness.

“At first, after 15 minutes of light jogging, I was as exhausted as if I had played 90 minutes.

I was breathless, had difficulty breathing, my heart rate was increased, "said Drinkuth of the" Chemnitzer Morgenpost "(Saturday).

The 26-year-old was infected with the corona virus in early December.

It was only towards the end of the ten-day quarantine that Drinkuth showed the first symptoms.

"I got a headache that didn't go away and even the smallest movements strained me," explained the professional.

There was no fever: "Fortunately, the loss of smell and taste that was observed with Corona did not materialize."

Based on the experiences made, Drinkuth warns to take Covid-19 disease seriously.

«It is already thought-provoking when you experience first-hand how much the coronavirus can destroy you.

You see the whole thing from a completely different perspective. "

In the meantime, Zwickau's flank player has returned to team training.

The away game of the FSV on Sunday (2 p.m.) at TSV 1860 Munich could come too early for him, but "I want to play again after that," said Drinkuth: "The coach and sports director give me all the time I need."
