According to the embassy, the Russians, presumably from Tatarstan, were going to travel around the world.
However, they did not inform anyone of their plans to enter the territorial waters of Vanuatu.
“And since there are quarantine restrictions in Vanuatu, they were met by the Coast Guard, who escorted them to the capital Port Vila, and they were asked to quarantine, which they are now doing,” the embassy said.
The Russians are in quarantine.
At the same time, the embassy provides them with consular assistance and resolves the issue of the release of Russian citizens with the Vanuatu authorities.
