Dortmund (dpa) - Borussia Dortmund's sports director Michael Zorc is convinced of reaching the Champions League without new players in winter despite slipping to seventh place before the 19th matchday of the Bundesliga.

"That is our primary objective and we will do everything for it," said Zorc on the Saturday before the game against FC Augsburg on Sky TV.

He was “absolutely convinced” that this would also be possible with the current staff.

Therefore, the club will no longer be active in the transfer market if nothing serious happens.

In view of the recent failure in the Bundesliga, Zorc complained about the lack of consistency.

"If you know your way around Borussia Dortmund a bit, then you know that in this situation, where we are seventh in the table and we haven't won three games, there is pressure on the boiler."

The team does not manage to achieve a performance over 70, 80, 90 minutes with which you usually win.

"That's our problem," said the sports director.

Zorc also complained that the players lacked concentration, especially in opposing standard situations.

"We make it too easy for the opponent to score goals against us," he criticized and demanded: "We have to improve a lot."
