Berlin (dpa / bb) - The capacities of the three Berlin vaccination centers should not be restricted despite the delivery bottlenecks for vaccines against the corona virus.

"The vaccine will be enough for the next few weeks," said the spokeswoman for the vaccination centers, Regina Kneiding, of the German press agency.

At the request of the Senate Administration, the opening of the fourth vaccination center in the Velodrom is planned for February.

There are currently around 3000 vaccinations a day in the vaccination centers, and this order of magnitude can also be expected in the near future.

There are also no changes to the opening times and the number of shifts in which doctors and helpers work in the vaccination centers, said Kneiding.

This also applies to the number of helpers - such as those from the German Red Cross (DRK).

"We are still preparing for full operation."

The vaccination centers in the arena hall in Treptow, in the Erika-Heß-Eisstadion in Wedding and under the radio tower on the exhibition grounds are all not fully used.

There is a lack of sufficient vaccine for this.

On request, the health administration announced that 3600 doses of the Moderna vaccine had been announced for Sunday, 29 250 doses of the Biontech vaccine for Tuesday and another 35 100 for the following Tuesday.

Due to the delivery delays, there are restrictions on the possibilities to book appointments in the near future.

According to the information, all promises for Biontech vaccination appointments in vaccination centers, in mobile teams and in hospitals continue to apply.

"Only in the case of some appointments for Moderna vaccine in the Erika Hess Stadium had to be postponed by a week."

All those affected were contacted and the postponement agreed with them, according to the health administration.

At a vaccination summit on Monday, the nationwide scarce vaccine should be the central topic.

The heads of government of the federal states, including Berlin's Governing Mayor Michael Müller (SPD), several federal ministers, vaccine manufacturers and representatives of the EU Commission are to take part in the video conference.

"The expectations of the summit are high everywhere, but we know about the restrictions on vaccine deliveries," said the president of the DRK regional association, Mario Czaja, of the German press agency.

“But they are the linchpin.

No vaccinations without a vaccine.

Reliable planning of vaccine deliveries for work in the vaccination centers would help us a lot. "
