Berlin / Bremen (dpa / lni) - After heavy snowfall in parts of Lower Saxony and in Bremen, Deutsche Bahn's long-distance traffic is largely normal again.

There are still very few impairments, said a railway spokeswoman on Saturday.

The weather-related overhead line fault between Emden and Norddeich Mole has been fixed.

However, three train connections from Norddeich to Leipzig and Cologne were canceled on Saturday.

The private rail operator Metronom announced on Saturday that most of the frozen points had been made usable again.

Regular operations can be resumed.

However, there could be occasional delays and possibly also individual train cancellations.

A company spokesman said there are currently no more disruptions to the train connections from enno and erixx.

Due to difficult winter weather conditions, Metronom had initially completely stopped its train service in Lower Saxony on Friday evening.

The Göttingen train station has also been closed since 7 a.m.

Preparations for a bomb disposal have been underway there since Saturday morning.

Long-distance traffic therefore had to be rerouted.
