Berlin (dpa) - There have been further personnel consequences around the Wirecard scandal.

According to information from the German Press Agency, the head of the Apas auditor supervision, Ralf Bose, was given an extraordinary termination - he had already been released in mid-December.

Bose was criticized for share deals in connection with the accounting scandal.

The termination by the responsible Federal Office for Economics and Export Control took place on January 13th.

The Federal Office belongs to the business area of the Federal Ministry of Economics under Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU).

According to dpa information, the ministry is now tightening the Apas compliance code.

The head of the quality control department had already taken over the management of the Apas until further notice.

On Friday it became known that the accounting scandal surrounding the former Dax group Wirecard is costing the head of the Bafin financial supervisory authority, Felix Hufeld, the job.

Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) announced: "We are combining the planned organizational reform of the Bafin with a new start in terms of personnel."

Apas boss Bose had testified in the Wirecard investigation committee of the Bundestag that he had privately traded shares in the scandalous company while the authority was already investigating the case.

Apas oversees auditors in Germany.

In the Wirecard case, EY auditors had approved financial statements for years and are confronted with the accusation of not looking closely enough.

The former Dax group Wirecard, now insolvent, had granted air bookings of 1.9 billion euros.

The Munich public prosecutor assumes that the company has shown fictitious profits since 2015.

Altmaier had shown himself to be "alienated" in December by the head of the authorities' share purchases.

Opposition officials had called for Bose's release.
