While an advisor from the Pôle Emploi agency in Valence was shot and killed on Thursday, as well as another woman, by an unemployed engineer of 45 years, all the agencies will remain closed this Friday.

Internally, there are questions about the safety of employees, a large influx of job seekers is expected in the face of the explosion of unemployment.

INTERVIEW

All the Pôle Emploi agencies will remain closed to the public from Friday, January 29, but job seekers will be able to do their usual business on the establishment's website.

This measure was decided on Thursday afternoon after the assassination, a few hours earlier, of an advisor from the Pôle Emploi agency in Valence.

An exceptional meeting of the central CSE of Pôle emploi will be held next Tuesday.

It will be devoted to the aftermath of this tragedy.

The first trade union organization at Pôle Emploi, the CFDT considers that it is necessary to reflect on the way in which job seekers are received in the agencies in a context of a sharp rise in unemployment expected in the coming months.

Secure the organization of agencies in the face of the expected influx in the coming months

"The agents of Pôle emploi are clearly in a state of shock, with a concern linked to the current economic period and to the fact that there may be other completely irrational behaviors which lead to this type of violence", reports to Europe 1 David Vallaperta, CFDT union representative at the central CSE of Pôle emploi.

"One of the questions that will arise is how to secure the organization of our receptions to ensure that this kind of situation can never happen again."

"We will have to follow very precisely the evolution of frequentation of our agencies in the coming months, to see if our workforce is at a sufficient level, and to think about how we can change the organization and the reception in the agency to respond satisfactorily to the demands of job seekers ", adds this trade unionist.
