The alarm came at 02.30 during the night towards Friday.
It had then started to burn in Köpmanholmen's school in Örnsköldsvik, the police write on their website.
According to the police, finds have been found at the site that make the fire suspected to have been started.
The police label it as arson and will block off the site.
