Potsdam / Rathenow / Neuruppin (dpa / bb) - Sewing sets by post and collection at the shop door: Brandenburger retailers are trying to stay afloat in the corona pandemic with creative ideas.

The fabrics shop Enny's Salon on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße in Potsdam-Babelsberg sells its selection of almost 1000 fabrics, sewing machines and sewing sets with instructions to order.

You can order by e-mail, via the website or by phone.

The store is facing shutdown due to lost sales

"We have to close in April," says owner Tom Ehnert.

The money is no longer enough to save the family business.

Janine Fürstenberg from the Janine B. fashion shop in Rathenow packs sample bags for her customers to order.

They can see new collections via the Facebook page, the website or their Whatsapp status.

The bags are sent or can be picked up at the shop door.

Many customers took advantage of the Fürstenberg offer during the lockdown.

«We have the advantage that we are a small shop with regular customers.

This way we can keep in touch and inform you about new offers, ”says Fürstenberg.

According to the Berlin-Brandenburg Trade Association, some shops offer "Click & Collect", which means that you can pick up items after ordering online or by telephone.

"Those who offer it make six to a maximum of ten percent sales with it," says Managing Director Nils Busch-Petersen.

"That shows: people want stationary."
