Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - Corona restrictions or not - in October 2020, five percent more marriages were concluded in North Rhine-Westphalia than in the same month of the previous year.
A total of around 9,320 couples married, the State Office for Statistics (IT.NRW) announced on Friday.
According to statisticians' observations, fewer couples marry in the autumn of October than in September.
Last year, however, it was the other way round: the number of marriages in October even increased by two percent compared to September.
Overall, however, in the Corona year 2020 from January to October in NRW with almost 66,000 couples, around twelve percent less than in the same period of the previous year.
