Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament meets today for its last session in the 17th electoral period.

The agenda includes the final report of the study commission on the corona pandemic.

There will also be debates about the big question from the CDU parliamentary group on the employment and promotion practice of the state government and the answer from the Ministry of the Interior.

At the request of the SPD, the current debate is about research policy in the country.

The Greens parliamentary group makes the climate protection and energy transition the topic.

The new state parliament is elected on March 14th.

Its constituent meeting is scheduled for May 18th.

According to the previous planning, this will take place for the first time in the newly renovated state parliament building in the historic Deutschhaus on the banks of the Rhine.

Until the election, further committee meetings or special sessions of the state parliament can be called at short notice on the basis of the rules of procedure.
