Uelzen (dpa) - Due to difficult winter weather conditions, the railway operator Metronom will completely shut down its train service in Lower Saxony on Friday evening.

In particular, frozen points, snow and icy overhead lines ensured that a safe journey was no longer possible.
Therefore, for the safety of the passengers, it was decided to gradually cease the train traffic on the routes of the metronom, enno and erixx.
All train journeys end at their destination station.
The train service of the metronom, enno and erixx will be completely stopped by 11 p.m., it said.
