January 29, 2021 Pfizer-BioNTech's Comirnaty vaccine against Covid-19 is "safe" and "has no new side effects".

This was stated by EMA, the European Medicines Agency, which today published the first update on the safety of the vaccine.

The expert committee analyzed the data obtained from the ongoing vaccination campaigns and also studied some cases of deaths of frail elderly reported after the administration of the serum.

The EMA concluded that "the data did not show a link of deaths to vaccination with Comirnaty and that the cases do not raise safety concerns.
