Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - From 18 to 83 years - the age range of applicants for the state parliament mandates is large.

According to information provided by State Returning Officer Cornelia Nesch, 872 applicants from 21 parties were admitted to the state election in the 70 constituencies.

233 women are standing for the vote on March 14th, which corresponds to 27 percent of the applicants.

In the state elections in 2016 it was only 19 percent.

At that time, 22 parties with 792 nominations were allowed.

In addition to party aspirants, eight (2016: three) individual applicants, two of them women, run for election.
