January 28, 2021 Suicide incitement through 'video challenge' on Tik Tok.

The Florence Postal Police - coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Luca Tescaroli and Deputy Prosecutor Fabio Di Vizio, of the Florentine Public Prosecutor's Office - denounced a 48-year-old influencer from the province of Syracuse.

In particular, as part of the monitoring of the Internet network, the investigators identified a link on Tik Tok, attributable to the profile of the Sicilian influencer, in which a video was displayed showing a 'challenge' between a woman and a man, in which both completely wrapped their faces, including nostrils and mouth, with transparent adhesive tape, so that they could not breathe.

The video was considered by the investigators to be "extremely dangerous" as it is visible to all users without restrictions and because it can be an object of emulation by minors, as has happened recently with similar challenges;

therefore, he was reported by the Cncpo of the Rome Postal Police Service and removed from the Tik Tok platform.

As part of the same monitoring activity it was ascertained that over time the influencer had also published numerous other 'video challenges' of the same content, which allowed her to gain popularity and the attention of 731,000 followers of different ages.

To confirm the risk of emulation among users, especially minors, some posts like this: "Hello, if you say hello, I swear I'll throw myself out of the window".

Hence the decision of the prosecutors, owners of the investigations, to issue an urgent order of search, including computer, and seizure of social accounts, carried out by the Catania postal police.
