The US Department of Commerce said on the 28th local time that the growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP) in the fourth quarter of last year was calculated at an annual rate of 4.0%.

This is somewhat lower than the 4.3% of Dow Jones' expert estimates.

In 2020, it fell 3.5% annually, making it the worst report card ever since 1946.

The U.S. economy, which recorded negative growth at -5.0% in the first quarter and -31.4% in the second quarter in the aftermath of the novel coronavirus outbreak, rebounded by 33.4%, the largest after the statistics in the third quarter, but the growth trend was slightly dull in the fourth quarter.

The US growth rate will be announced three times, divided into breaking, tentative, and final values.

The announcement on this day is a breaking news and may be revised in the future.
