Erlandsson has always denied crime and been acquitted by both the district court and the court of appeal.

He was initially charged with three counts of sexual harassment, after, according to the prosecutor, he took two moderate members of parliament and a center party member on the thighs at various work-related events.

Only the two members of the Riksdag appealed to the Court of Appeal, and after the acquittal there went on to the highest court to have the case tried.

But HD will not address the goal:

"There has been no reason to grant leave to appeal," HD writes in its decision.

Thus, the acquittal stands firm.
