Bremen (dpa / lni) - In view of a significant increase in new corona infections, the Uelzen district is considering stricter restrictions for old people's and nursing homes.

The incidence value, which indicates the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, rose to over 200 on Thursday (as of 9:00 a.m., incidence value: 207.8)).

One reason is a sharp increase in coronavirus infections in several old people's and nursing homes, said district spokesman Martin Theine.

As of Wednesday, eight of a total of 27 retirement and nursing homes as well as a clinic in Uelzen were affected.

The district wants to present the changed measures in a general decree.

Besides Uelzen, only the district of Nienburg (Weser) had an incidence value of over 200 (210.1) on Thursday.
