Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith says in a cover article for the People newspaper that Queen Elizabeth II is "more vital in secret than what the public perceives."

In this interview, Biddle Smith, author of "Elizabeth The Queen: The Life of a Modern King," shared details about the 94-year-old's light-shaded side, and specifically how she interacts with those close to her.

According to Biddell, the Queen has a good sense of humor, and the Queen's aides are accustomed to hearing her happy laugh echoing in the castle halls of her home in Sandringham.

“You can hear her laugh all over that big house, she has a rattling laugh,” Biddell, who was told by an inside source, says that the Queen is not afraid to make fun of herself.

After Prince Charles married Princess Diana in 1981, the royal wedding was shown on a nearby TV.

When she saw herself on the screen, she joked, "Oh, it looks like I have Miss Piggy's face," referring to the famous TV doll in children's films.

Humor also appeared on Queen Elizabeth on some occasions.

One of those occasions was during a photo shoot for her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, when she decided to embrace her model.

Reportedly, while photographer Barry Jeffrey was taking a photo of the royal family, she asked him to keep the camera rotating in order to get more candid shots, including a range of poses and mimic the poses of a professional model.
