Karlstadt (dpa / lby) - A good three weeks after the emergency braking of an ICE in Lower Franconia, the police are currently checking a number of clues from the population.

The investigations continued in all directions, said a police spokesman in Würzburg.

It is not yet known who put up several posters over the railway line near Karlstadt (Main-Spessart district) at the beginning of January.

An ICE coming from Schweinfurt had passed through one of the tarpaulins stretched through wooden slats on January 6th.

The engine driver initiated an emergency braking on the high-speed line.

Nobody got hurt.

The railcar was slightly damaged.

Police later found more posters along the railway line between Waigolshausen and Gemünden, also stretched over the track with wooden slats, and removed them.

Nationwide there are repeated sabotages on ICE routes, for example to extort money.
