Dresden (dpa / sn) - In Saxony, new corona rules apply from today.

Among other things, masks with better protection must then be worn when shopping as well as on the bus and train.

These include surgical masks or filter masks of protection class FFP2.

A simple cloth mask is then taboo there - but it can still be worn on the street.

Even in churches and health facilities such as medical practices, visitors must wear at least one surgical mask.

In addition, employers must enable more home offices if there are no compelling reasons to do so.

After federal-state consultations, Saxony has tightened its state ordinance in some points.

The rules now apply until February 14th.

Cities and counties also have more freedom in making decisions: If the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants falls below 100 for five consecutive days within a week, they can lift the night curfews.
