Los Angeles (AP) - In a set photo from the film "Spencer", Kristen Stewart turns deceptively real into Princess Diana - with a slightly tilted head and a shy look under a black hat with a veil.

The US production company Neon put the picture online.

Under the direction of the Chilean Pablo Larraín, the shooting of "Spencer" has now started, reported "Variety".

Germany and Great Britain are named as locations.

The German company Accomplices Film is involved in the project.

The cast of the main role with Stewart became known in 2020.

The script was written by Steven Knight («Conspiracy»).

"Spencer", after Diana's maiden name, revolves around a long Christmas weekend at the royal country estate of Sandringham in the early 1990s when Diana made the decision to part ways with Prince Charles.

Charles and Diana were married in a fairytale wedding in 1981, and after a long war of roses they divorced in 1996.

A year later Diana died in a car accident in Paris.

Stewart, who suddenly found herself in the limelight at the age of 18 after her “Twilight” success, recently starred in many independent films, including “Certain Women” and “Jean Seberg - Against All Enemies”.

Director Larraín brought Natalie Portman in front of the camera as Jacqueline Kennedy in "Jackie".
