Mainz (dpa) - After the replacement of the sporting leadership, the club leadership will be re-elected at the Bundesliga soccer club 1. FSV Mainz 05.

At the virtual general meeting on February 9th, the previous association chairman, Stefan Hofmann, is standing for re-election.

The 57-year-old has been running the club since 2018 and is also chairman of the board.

As the association announced on Thursday evening, the electoral commission has approved one woman and eleven men as candidates for eight vacant positions on the supervisory board.

The general meeting was originally planned as a face-to-face event last October, but was postponed due to the corona pandemic.

From Monday onwards, all the people who are eligible for election will present themselves on the club website in a short presentation in text form and by video, the club announced.
