Paris (AP) - Before the merger with the train division of Bombardier, the French TGV manufacturer Alstom is negotiating with the Czech company Skoda Transportation about two plants.
Alstom confirmed on Thursday on request in Saint-Ouen near Paris that the sale of the Alsatian factory Reichshoffen and parts of the Bombardier location in Hennigsdorf near Berlin had been going on.
The "Handelsblatt" had previously reported on it.
Last July, the EU competition authorities combined their green light for the billion-dollar deal with the condition that Bombardier production facilities in Hennigsdorf must be sold.
Brussels also called for the Reichshoffen plant to be surrendered so that the new network would not become too powerful.
Alstom wants to complete the mega merger with the Bombardier train division on Friday.
According to the media, this will create world number two in the industry, behind the Chinese giant CRRC.
According to the company, around 74,000 people are employed.

Skoda Transportation is a large mechanical engineering company based in Plzen, West Bohemia, which has nothing to do with the automobile manufacturer of the same name.
Among other things, it manufactures electric locomotives and trams that are used in the capital Prague, for example.
Skoda Transportation has been part of the PPF group of the richest Czech Petr Kellner for three years.
