It was the last, but probably one of the most anticipated, at the foot of the (not so new) city of the judicial city of Paris.

This Thursday morning, the Porte de Clichy station on the new section of line 14 opened its doors to travelers, almost a month and a half after the other three stations, Pont-Cardinet, Clichy-Saint-Ouen and Mairie de Saint -Yes.

A breath of fresh air for this district in the north-west of the capital where nearly 8,000 people live and where 11,000 workers crowd every day, including 4,600 just for the court.

"It is the station of access to law," said the CEO of RATP, Catherine Guillouard.

For the occasion, the public prosecutor of Paris, Rémi Heitz, and the president of the bar Olivier Cousi, had made the trip.

"Some believed that it would never happen," joked the president of the region, Valérie Pécresse, in reference to the accumulated delay.

A gigantic water leak during the earthworks phase and then the Covid-19 crisis slowed down the work in this station of nearly 9,000 m2, spanning six levels and whose quays are 26 meters deep.

There is also still here and there small works of development and decoration, which will take place, promises the RATP, "mainly at night" and which will not harm traffic.

"We must change these habits, that users of line 13 try line 14, to try it is to adopt it", joked the president of the region.

Since the start of the three other new stations, the RATP has recorded a 20% increase in traffic on line 14. This will relieve around 25% of congestion on line 13, as was originally the goal. ?

"We are not yet able to say it, recognizes the CEO of RATP.

Line 13 has dropped in pressure, but is it related to the period we are going through or the opening of these stations, it's a bit early to say.
