Ulm (dpa / lsw) - As of today, a 42-year-old woman has to answer to the Ulm Regional Court for nine attempts at murder.

The woman is said to have started a fire in an amusement arcade in Ehingen (Alb-Donau district) and accepted the deaths of nine people who lived above the amusement arcade, as a spokesman for the court announced.

She is therefore also accused of attempted serious arson.

The woman was therefore employed in the arcade and is said to have embezzled change there several times.

As she feared being discovered, she took incriminating documents one night in September 2020, the court said.

So that the lack of documents is not noticed, she is said to have tried to destroy all documents in the arcade with fire.

The woman accepted that the fire could spread to the building and the sleeping residents above the arcade would die from the fire.

Ultimately, there was no major fire.

The fire went out after the fire accelerator was used up.

None of the residents were injured.

The fire damage is therefore around 5000 euros.
