Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin have continued their home series in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Thursday evening, the capitals defeated the Iserlohn Roosters 4: 2 (1: 2, 2: 0, 1: 0) and thus also won their sixth game of the season in the arena at Ostbahnhof.

Leonhard Pföderl, Kris Foucault, Giovanni Fiore and Mark Zengerle ensured the victory with their goals, which the Berliners earned with a considerable increase in performance in the second third.

After a balanced initial phase, the hosts were the first to cheer: Pföderl scored after an energetic individual performance.

But the Iserlohner came through Ryan Johnston to equalize and shortly thereafter used their first power play to opener by Joseph Whitney.

Before the first break, the polar bears ran the risk of falling even further behind, but increased significantly after the restart.

After Fiore and new signing Zach Boychuk were unlucky with their shots on the post, Foucault equalized.

In excess, Fiore took care of the well-deserved leadership of Berliners.

In the final section the hosts controlled the game, and Zengerle finally made the decision with his goal.
